A Judge has told a District Court that he had “no real alternative” other than to lock the teenager up for five months.
The 17 year old with an address in Tallaght had previously pleaded guilty to four charges of dangerous driving at four separate locations in Tallaght on February 5th 2009.
He had also pleaded guilty to driving a stolen car at Bagenalstown Co Carlow on the above date.
He also pleaded not guilty to breaching the peace and failing to comply with a gardas directions at the Old Blessington Road Tallaght on January 5 2009.
The teenager was before Judge McDonnell for a pre-sentence report and for sentencing. Reading the report Judge McDonnell told the teen that he had “no real alternative” other than to lock up the teenager. He sentenced the teenager to five months detention and a five month supervision order for driving a stolen car.
In addition, he sent the teen down for five months with a seven-year driving ban for each count of dangerous driving.
